Postby hostingforum » Wed Nov 21, 2012 10:51 pm

Hello, on my cPanel server, vbulletin forum has around 5 million posts, whole database is around 30GB in size. The repair process is interupted.

How to repair, optimise virtually any mysql database size even on weak server? What mysql values to modiffy what software to use so the process goes slowly and safelly untill completion?

Thank you

Notes:
Can increasing myisam_sort_buffer_size help speeding repair process?

Automatically repair myisam indexes: Put this in your /etc/my.cnf:
[mysqld]
myisam-recover=backup,force

Check all databases statuses: mysqlcheck -A -F
Repair all databases (may take a long time): mysqlcheck -A --auto-repair
