In SMM, we would be dealing with posting links, news and updates on social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook, which can in turn help improve our websites' traffic shares while in SEM, we would be using paid traffic.
If you are currently using Google AdWords to build traffic for your website and find new customers, you are in effect using one form of SEM. They both are useful valuable ways to maintain traffic shares online.
