What methods are you using to build your back links? I have tried many ways and I have to say that there are no useless back links. If you choose the sites you are posting your link to, then you will only have good results.
I am searching for forums with the same niche as my site and I am posting on them with my link on my signature. Is very helpful as people on those forums will have knowledge on the niche your site is.

I have also tried doing blog commenting. It had also good results, most of the times my comment was answered by the blog owner and this was encourage the people who reading the post to visit my site.

have you tried getting backlinks from. .edu or .gov websites.. its just great to have some of them... unfortunately i have not get one yet.. but its really much effective with SEO point view.

Although it is very hard to achieve targeted place however if you are hard worker and if you have self confidence on yourself so you can get achievement by following the Google instructions.
