How to remove default PHPBB newsletter email text

Postby hostingforum » Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:36 pm

Hi, if You are running PHPBB forum and tried to send Mass email to Your mebmers (Administration>System>Mass e-mail), it sent an email with content like:

The following is an e-mail sent to you by an administrator of "{SITENAME}". If this message is spam, contains abusive or other comments you find offensive please contact the webmaster of the board at the following address:

{CONTACT_EMAIL}

Include this full e-mail (particularly the headers).

Message sent to you follows:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{MESSAGE}
{EMAIL_SIG}
But you want to remove this default text so your message is right on the top and unsubscribing information on the bottom..
To remove this email default text, just login to your FTP (or hosting control panel file manager) to edit your forum files.
Find this path on your hosting /language/en/email/admin_send_email.txt (if your forum language is other than english, use /language/yourlanguagefolder/...)
And there open this file, you will find above mentioned text, now you can modiffy this file to edit your newsletter email template. I have mine set to:
{MESSAGE}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This e-mail was sent to you by {SITENAME} administrator. If You wish to unsubscribe please reply back confirming You wish to delete your forum account.

After modiffying the admin_send_email.txt file, save it back to hosting. You may want to create bakcup of original file.
