How to temporarily block IPs based on connection frequency

Postby hostingforum » Sat Dec 29, 2012 12:39 pm

Hi, i have linux hosting server and i would like to ask what is the fastest way to temporarilly ban IPs which crawl the site, like spiders which spider like 5+ pages consequently and swithing in like less than 50 miliseconds after loading the page. you know, so this will prevent server overload.

Also i would like to temporarily block ips which loading one element like image over and over again. So i prevent bandwidth theft..?

// Edit: ConfigServer firewall might be helpfull. It runs on Linux, has many anti bruteforce settings, connection limits.
