Tutorial: Buying SSL certifficate & installing on cpanel

Postby hostingforum » Thu Mar 07, 2013 10:48 pm

This is little guide how to order SSL certifficate from namecheap and install it at cpanel server. You can use this guide also for other registars.

WARNING: before purchasing SSL certifficate, ask your hosting company how much they charge for the installation. You will need Dedicated IP which cost usually $2 monthly, and they may charge instalaltion fees every year on cert. renewal.

So here is is the process of activating purchased SSL. Please see the attached image.

Domain validation email arived after one hour in my case.

After you confirm(validate) your domain ownership, you will receive very soon (me within minutes) an email with your certifficate attached. This needs to be installed by your hosting provider or by Yourself if You are skilled server or VPS administrator. (search google: how to install ssl certifficate linux and similar)

Do its not that simple process really. Hope that helps a little.
