Running personal or company blog can be easier than you may think.

I believe that thanks to this tutorial, anyone with basic computer skills can do it easilly. But in case, you may need help, you can find my contacts on the bottom of this tutorial .

Follow these easy steps to have your blog up and running

Use established company like Hostgator (open it in a New Tab, right click) and their Hatchlink plan (one domain hosting). Im hosting with them and they have high uptime and helpfull support. If Hostgator price will be too high for You, use InstantcPanelHosting (open it in a New Tab, right click) plan "Mini" instead ($6 yearly hosting, $10+ yearly domain name). This tutorial is made for hostgator (they have better support and best reviews), but works also for InstantcPanelHosting.

Hosting order is simple and you will need to choose a new domain name here (prefferably .com). Name should be short, easy to remember. After you submitted your hosting order form, Within like 5 minutes, You will receive an email with your hosting account login details..



Click the "Your control panel" link to go to your hosting control panel. This is how it looks like:



To setup a website (blog, forum, ) just click "QuickInstall" icon, as seen on image above. (In case You registered InstantcPanelHosting instead of Hostgator, you will need to setup your blog using icon named "Auto Installer").

Then in your Hostgator hosting control panel You can see



Then You start blog (Wordpress) installation on your hosting account:



Then you receive an message that installation is complete and you can login now:



Now your blog looks like this - simple. We need to add some nice theme right?



So lets login into admin are using credentials you received after blog installation:

Admin Area: http://favoriteminigames.com/blog/wp-admin (in Your case: http://yourdomain.com)
Username: admin
Password: gJapqAgH5hthW

This is how your blog administration looks like after login:



From there you can Write a blog post or Customize your site (add nice theme). What we will do now is to add new theme, so please click "change your theme completely" link and or you can achieve the same by clicking left menu item Appearance/Themes This is what you can see after:



Click "Install Themes" link and after that click "Search" button so you can see the list of all available. We can see there is 628 free wordpress themes for You to pick from!



Select the theme you like and click "Install" link (Image below) and then "Activate" link.



When done, your website yourdomain.com has a new theme



Now You want to add new post to your blog. So in Administration, you click "Dashboard" link in the left menu:



And click "Write your first blog post" and or left menu: Posts / Add New this is what you see then:



Just write Your new post title, text and click "Publish" button. Then your post will be published right on Your blog main page for your readers:

Congratulations! Now You have learned how to create Your own blog, change its theme and add new blog posts.

How to get readers

To get blog readers, you should publish your blog link (http://YourBlogDomainName.com) at relevant websites, forums, in your email signature or similar.

My blog appears in Google

At same time, when you start adding new blog posts, Google will start indexing your blog content and showing your blog in search results. It means if your blog is about gardening, the people searching for gardening content, can find your blog posts from Google.
