I would like to know that hat is broken link in SEO ?

When web developers delete a linked page, place an incorrect URL in a text link, or change a URL address without correctly updating the URL, a broken link is created.

Broken link is an hyperlink that is leading to a page that no longer exist. Visitor then can see error page, usually with 404 error code.
Webmasters aim should be to minimise number of broken links. Google may prefer webpage that is properly linked.
