Reset Windows 10 login password?

Postby Vepuriz » Tue Jun 28, 2016 2:54 am

I can't remember the login password of my Lenovo laptop. I tried all the possible passwords I have ever used but without any luck this time. What is the right method to recover the password without losing any data?

I would guess its not possible once one loose the password.
If using Live data to login: https://account.live.com/password/reset

Try to boot from Windows instalation CD/DVD/flash (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10) and sellect to Repair computer.

One can also try to use Hirens Boot CD (or flash) to boot it and launch Offline password changer to reset password. Tutorial: http://windowsten.info/tutorials/5768-how-to-reset-windows-10-account-password

Why don't you just go to user accounts and create a new administrator account grab your files on flash drive log out the log back in under the new administrator account go back to user accounts and delete the old account?

Then drop your files back in the main folder.

The password reset disk can only be created when you can remember the admin password.
If you've lost the password, use the password cracking softwares like Ophcrack, Offline NT Password & Registry Editor:

Or restore your computer to a backup restore point when it's created when you remember the old password.
