Trick how to disable all images on vbulletin forum

Postby hostingforum » Wed Apr 25, 2012 12:07 pm

Hi there, i have replaced (temporarilly) all images on my forum by one image of mine, this tutorial can also help you to disable all images on your vbulletin forum. Please note that i mean images in posts whch users add in [ img ] (image tag)

How to do it?
- Open FTP of your website vbulletin forum account
- edit file /includes/class_bbcode.php
- find: "Handles a match of the [img] tag"

And few lines below this text, you can find something like:

return '<img src="' . $link . '" border="0" alt="" />';
Now you can replace whole img tag by some text or by some other image, like:

return '<img src="http://yoursite.com/images/myimage.gif" border="0" alt="" />';

It might be clever to rather comment orriginal code out instead of replacing so you can restore original code, like:

return '<!--<img src="' . $link . '" border="0" alt="" />--><img src="http://yoursite.com/images/myimage.gif" border="0" alt="" />';

Does it work for you?
