In Shared Hosting, a single server hosts multiple websites. Each customer gets a limited amount of resources to use. They get a section of the server where they can store their data and access it. Shared hosting is the cheapest type of web hosting.
The main drawback of shared hosting is that it cannot handle high traffic on a particular site because of limited resources. Therefore if there is a sudden rise in a site’s traffic, there is a possibility that the site may get down. Sometimes high traffic on any one site of the server affects other site’s performance.
Another disadvantage of shared hosting is, it is very vulnerable to hacking. If one site in the server gets hacked, other sites in the server might get impacted.
Shared Hosting is considered best for bloggers or small business sites, basically sites with relatively moderate traffic. Since there is less traffic, they do not need many resources.
Hence, their site will run smoothly in shared hosting.
