Hi there, so i did setup of Wordpress Multisite on my cPanel server. It took a long time so i think i may share how i did it if anyone bothers to read my bad english.

This is about Wordpress Multisite installation (one wordpress which allows having in its directory multiple wordpresses on subdomains).

So first step is to set your domains nameservers at your domain registar. When done i created cpanel account named on one of my domains.

Second step - i installed Wordpress multisite script.

Third step, i modiffied DNS Zone for my cpanel account (thru cPanels WHM) main domain name and added: new A recod, with IP of my server site and name: "*" (im not sure if its a good step, but this step may ensure subdomains working ok..) I think following step will be sufficing when its addon domain multisite, not subdomain multisite):

Fourth step, login to your cpanel user account and go to Addon Domains. Add all your domains one by one while modiffying their directories from /public_html/domainname.com to /public_html only.

Fifth step (probably not necessary) but i added subdomain with name "*" and pointing again into /public_html - this may ensure that if you select wordpress multisite to create subdomains, they will be automatically hopefully created and be accessible.

You have gone through the hard way, I believe. The steps that you mentioned are ample to setup a multisite over your WordPress. However, this can also be done in a lot more simple way. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any YouTube video tutorial to show here – but I just came across to Cloudreviews; a site that I follow to learn things related to the world of Cloud, and there I find an article that says “WordPress Multisite Hosting – The Easy Way to Run Multiple WP Sites”. I think you should find a minute of time to read over this post in which you will find the basis, how-to, benefits and scenarios where WP multisite hosting is least recommended. Cheers!
